Insane or Inspired? One Man’s Bid to End Patriarchy Forever (Part 29)
Out of Context
In modern parlance, the unawakened masses are most commonly referred to as ‘sheeple’. To Lucy, however, everyone outside of our community were now ‘snake heads’, following Jay’s unexpected use of the term. It wasn’t so much an insult, however, as a description. For the snake, or serpent, represents the voice in our head that we invariably mistake for our own. How do we know that it’s not authentically us? Well, because it’s talking, according to Jay. In other words, the enlightened mind is completely silent and devoid of any internal dialogue.
It’s easy to imagine that this voice, with which we’ve all become so familiar, represents something real and alive. Indeed, it’s easy to imagine that it represents oneself. However, upon analysis, it’s more like an unconsciously generated script, which we unwittingly act out upon the stage of life. The fact that we all have a connection to spirit, in addition to this script, is what creates the internal conflict, and subsequent fascination with drama (an external reflection of the internal struggle). The classic depiction of a person with a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other is the perfect metaphor. Only, this devil is not, by definition, a conscious entity. Conscious evil is a contradiction in terms, because consciousness itself is divine; consciousness is the Divine. This means that Satan, rather than being some kind of wicked being, is simply the personification of unconscious programming, which exists in all of us, and which speaks to us in our own voice.
For example, when somebody says, ‘Satan made me do it’, what they’re actually saying is that their conditioned persona is more powerful than their conscious will, or that their light was not strong enough to overcome the darkness. In that sense, at least, Satan is very real. And ‘patriarchy’, being the manifestation of the unconscious masculine ego, could certainly be seen as ruling the world in his name (because it does). Only, it doesn’t do this by controlling human minds, as such. It does it by generating human minds, which is the almost inevitable consequence if simply being born here. Control of an individual is automatic, once identification with the mind has taken place (during the early years of life). And it’s from this point forward that the voice of the serpent is accepted as one’s own.
Overcoming evil, therefore, has nothing to do with being ‘good’ (which is subjective), but rather becoming conscious, from which good actions will naturally arise. A sufficient number of laws and incentives, after all, can persuade most people to do what is generally considered to be good, but no amount of laws and incentives can create a single conscious person, or increase a person’s level of consciousness one iota.
It goes without saying, of course, that people have been trying to become more conscious for thousands of years, through various disciplines, methods and techniques. And yet, the world is darker now than it has ever been. Clearly, we are missing something very obvious. But what?
“Context,“ said Jay, during a special workshop, which Alistair was attending. “What people are missing, or lacking, is simply a new context, to replace the old one. Not just any context, of course, but the context; the only proper context for an awakened mind. That’s what’s needed, because waking up takes one out of context, as regards the world. So then what? Most truly enlightened souls become spiritual teachers, for a lack of anything better to do. For everyone else, there are ashrams and Sanghas and whatnot. But what’s the point of it all? There is none. These supposedly awakened Buddhas and yogis are all just wandering about, aimlessly, like lost sheep. And indeed they are lost sheep; my lost sheep. But once they hear my voice, and recognise it, I will become their shepherd. For I am not here to teach enlightenment, but to gather those who are already enlightened, and provide them with a proper context in which to live. This context, which you see all around you, here at Haven, represents the missing piece of the puzzle that has hitherto prevented even the enlightened from understanding the bigger picture. It has also prevented them from truly enjoying their lives, because they have been living outside of the divine blueprint, whether they are enlightened or not.
“What is the divine blueprint? Well, for what purpose was the divine masculine created in the first place? Why did the one Goddess choose to become two? Did She want to experience an equal? Or did She, like any other woman, want to be loved? Did She, in fact, want Her partner to devote his entire existence to Her; to live in service and submission to Her, exclusively, to the point of worship? Not, however, out of obligation, but out of love. Although, even this doesn’t quite capture it. For the service and devotion of the masculine, toward the feminine, isn’t merely a reflection of his love, but the very meaning of his existence. A bee, after all, does not simply desire to serve its queen. Rather, its whole purpose for being is to serve its queen. And it obviously won’t find peace or happiness in any other pursuit.
“And the same is true of men, for exactly the same reason. Unfortunately, patriarchy has ensured that this natural and primordial urge, of the male, remains limited and confined to exclusive relationships. Patriarchy doesn’t care about one man living in service and devotion to his wife. That man, after all, has to contribute to the system, with his time and energy, in order to accomplish this. What it does care very much about, however, and is desperate to avoid, is precisely what we are practising here at Haven. Namely, men in service and devotion to women, with no intermediary; no ‘system’ or governmental structure of any kind. This is what patriarchy fears the most, because this type of society spells the end of its existence.
“It also happens to be the one type of society that properly reflects the spiritual reality, in which the divine masculine serves the divine feminine Source. Does this surprise you? Because it shouldn’t. It’s intuitive knowledge, after all. You’re not divorced from it, in truth. And yet you have been divorced from it, by virtue of the social context in which you’ve been living. And so, yes, it may indeed surprise some of you. Many of the things that you see here at Haven may surprise you, such is the degree of your alienation from the Truth. But you need to see them, because simply hearing about the Truth is rarely enough. I want you to try it on; to test it out; to see how it fits. I want you to taste the Truth and to live the Truth, if only for a day.
“I know there are several Christians here with us this morning. Welcome. I suspect that you have a number of misgivings about this entire endeavour. But, hopefully, by the end of the day, you will have experienced a degree and a magnitude of love that puts Christianity itself into some kind of context. The question is, what happens when reality surpasses religious ideals? What happens when the love demonstrated by seemingly ordinary human beings exceeds even the love spoken about in Scripture? In other words, what is the point of a religion that cannot compete with manifest reality, in terms of the love that is shown between people, as an expression of their love for the Divine? Do Christians exhibit this degree of love for one another? I think not. Does anyone? No, of course they don’t. We ourselves are the only people on Earth right now who are demonstrating love on this scale, because we ourselves are the only people on Earth who have embraced the spiritual significance of the gender dynamic.
“Do you want to worship God? Do you really? Or do you merely want to worship a conception of God? Because, certainly, if your love for the Divine is genuine, then behold! Because here She sits. All of these girls and women, in the front row, in fact, have consented, today, to receive the praise that we are about to sing to them. I say, ‘consented’, but in truth they are thrilled and honoured to be recognised in this way. For some of them, it’s their first time.
“Are they special? Only in the sense of having been taken ‘out of context’; of having taken themselves out of context, I should say. By which I mean, having removed themselves from the world. For they have each rejected any label or identity that society has attempted to foist upon them, and instead embraced their divine and sovereign identity. And it’s this identity that we are worshipping here today. We are worshipping the Divine presence within them, in recognition of the fact that the Divine now lives through them, and as them. Whereas, formerly, it was society that lived through them, and as them. A society that was constructed and designed for this very purpose: To keep us from the Truth of who we are, and to prevent us from ever remembering the spiritual significance of the gender dynamic.
“Now, as the lights are dimmed, and the sacred candles are lit, the girls will begin to migrate onto the stage. As you can see, the theme today is ancient Greece, and they are all appropriately dressed for the occasion. I have to say, young Becky, here, looks like Aphrodite herself, with her beautiful red hair. I think you’ll agree. Oh, I’ve embarrassed her now. Sorry, Becky. In any case, once they’ve all filed onto the stage, those of you who’ve brought gifts and offerings with you, please come forward and place them somewhere on the edge of the stage. I have been authorised by the girls to say thank you, in advance, on their behalf. They are always profoundly grateful for any offerings that are made, whether it’s a bar of soap, or an Ipad. Okay, I’ll keep quiet now, for the next five minutes or so, before leading us into prayer.
“Good. Thank you for that. I’m always amazed at the generosity of guests and visitors. Now, if I could ask everyone in the audience to bow their heads, please, I’d like to say a few words: Heavenly Goddess, Divine Beloved, we are gathered here today, in your name, to recognise and honour your presence in the hearts of those who are seated upon the stage. These glorious and exquisite examples of femininity have purified themselves by shunning the world and all that it represents. They have emptied themselves out and become clear channels for your light, and your wisdom, which the world so badly needs. As such, they themselves represent your gift to us, and we humbly recognise this gift, and thank you for it. In return, please accept the love and devotion that is offered to you this day, and every day, through them, and through all of the girls and women here at Haven, and beyond. We thank you for their lives, for all of their lives, and we pray that the world awakens soon to your living presence among us. For you are here, where you have always been, in our homes and businesses; serving up food and waiting on tables; caring for the sick and raising the young; creating and crafting; loving and inspiring; singing and dancing. No voice is sweeter, no countenance more refined.
“Dear Goddess, every face of every woman and girl, throughout history, has served as your mask. And now, finally, the time has come to reveal this secret to the world, which will come as no surprise, to many. For your presence shines through even the most unlikely of faces, and through the selfless lives and actions of women everywhere. We know. We see. And, now, we humbly bow down and prostrate ourselves before these garments of flesh that you inhabit. For in so doing we set the example, we set a precedent, and we embolden and enable those who might otherwise have been too shy, or too scared, or too proud, or too embarrassed, to participate in something that no doubt seems alien to a world that has lost its way. No longer, however, shall we conceal the depth of our love for you, Great Goddess. We shall not hide it, for fear of ridicule, or in order to avoid persecution. We shall, instead, celebrate the depth of our love for you, which is infinite, and lead the world by example, until it is your world, once again. So be it.”
